✦ DARKNESS SUMMONING - a Grisha does not create, they manipulate what already exists in the natural world. he is able to pull on pre-existing shadow and manipulate it the way one might manipulate fabric or the flow of water. it is not an offensive ability, but one that he utilizes to obstruct the reach of the light and eclipse line of sight. though the folds of his very clothing may harbor shadow at all times, if any any given time there is no shadow, he cannot summon.
✦ MERZOST - a perversion of the natural world, said to create "something" from "nothingness". specifically his nichevo'ya - creatures of shadow; faceless and suggestive of nightmarish proportion, that do not fear the light. they are born and unleashed from within the darkness he manipulates, and are not independently intelligent.
upon arrival at the station, his ability is limited: he can only summon a maximum of four at this time, but may choose to summon one that is capable of complex tasks for a short period of time, or up to four capable of simple tasks for longer periods of time, or any reasonable combination of quantity and longevity. he is also able to customize their complexity, within those limits.
✦ THE CUT - a talent that any Grisha may possess, but few have the raw power to. the Cut is exactly what it seems - the ability to slice through matter with brutal precision, be if flesh and blood or inanimate substances.
upon arrival at the station, the Cut has a maximum range of forty feet, within line of sight. using the ability to its extremes (to cause large scale damage) requires a very high level of focus, potentially resulting in temporary division from the Nest, emotionally and psychologically, as well as physical harm on a physical level - ie. migraines, hemmorhage.
✦ LIGHT SUMMONING - NEGATED UPON ARRIVAL.
✦ AMPLIFIER - a passive ability. an amplifier is an object that is attuned to a single Grisha, or it is a living individual, who amplifiers another's power through touch. if a living amplifier is killed, and their bones or teeth fashioned into necklaces or other macabre jewelry, they provide even higher levels of power than when they are alive.
✦ COMBAT & SCIENCE PROWESS - as a result of forming, fine-tuning and leading the Second Army, he has gathered a number of combat and tactical skills over the years - including hand to hand combat and knifework. he's also basically the equivalent of someone who holds a dual degree in molecular chemistry and particle physics, due to the philosophy and study surrounding his form of magic: the small science.
✦ LONGEVITY - a Grisha's power feeds them, causing them to live past normal human years; the stronger the Grisha's power, the longer they live. the darkling, himself, has said he is over 120 years - his actual age is far greater.
